Sport fishing in San José del Cabo is world-renowned for its diverse fish species, and the catch can vary depending on the time of year. Here's a breakdown of the common sport fish varieties you can expect, month by month:

April - June
  • Striped Marlin: Remains strong, particularly in April.

  • Yellowfin Tuna: Starting to pick up by June.

  • Dorado (Mahi-Mahi): Increasing presence, especially in June.

  • Sailfish: Begins to appear in June.

  • Wahoo: 2 common toward June.

  • Roosterfish: Excellent

January - March
  • Striped Marlin: Prime season, with many available.

  • Yellowfin Tuna: Can be found, but less common.

  • Dorado (Mahi-Mahi): Sporadic catches as it’s not peak season.

  • Sierra Mackerel: Abundant during these months.

  • Snapper & Grouper: Good bottom fishing season.
